Biography

Bethany Marx (Assistant Professor of Theatre) has just begun a new career at SUNY Onenota in Oneonta, NY, where she will be teaching Costume Design and Construction, Makeup and Intro to Theatre. She spent six years teaching at University of Alaska in Fairbanks, where she also taught Theatre History and Collaborative Process. She holds an MFA in Costume Design from the University of Massachusetts and a BFA in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Evansville in Evansville, IN. Outside of TheatreUAF, her design credits include the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre, the Fairbanks Light Opera Theatre, the Virginia Shakespeare Festival, the Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis, IN, the Chester Theatre Company in Massachusetts, and the Hope Summer Repertory Theater in Holland, MI. She has also held various positions in costume construction and wardrobe at the Indiana Repertory Theatre, the Virginia, Texas and Maine Shakespeare Festivals, the Utah Shakespearean Festival and others.
